Strawberry Banana Milkshake

A handful of ingredients and just a few minutes in the blender make the creamiest, fruitiest, most delicious strawberry milkshake ever!
Prep: 10 minutes
Cook: 0 minutes
Total: 10 minutes
Recipe Makes: 2 milkshakes

Equipment

  • high-speed blender (or traditional blender)
  • silicone spatula (or large wooden spoon)
  • serving glasses

Ingredients

  • 2 cups halved strawberries (fresh, or defrosted if frozen)
  • 1 medium banana (fresh or frozen)
  • ½ cup milk of choice (plus more as desired)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (or honey, maple syrup, Granular Swerve, etc.; optional)
  • 1 cup vanilla ice cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Add 2 cups halved strawberries, 1 medium banana, ½ cup milk of choice, 1 tablespoon granulated sugar, 1 cup vanilla ice cream, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract to blender.
  • Secure lid on blender and blend ingredients until fully combined into smooth, creamy mixture, pausing to scrape down side of blender when needed.
  • Once ingredients are completely blended, taste mixture and add sugar and/or milk if needed to achieve desired flavor and consistency. Blend mixture again quickly after adding ingredients.
  • Portion mixture into serving glasses. Top with whipped cream if desired and serve immediately.

Recipe Notes

  • Strawberries: Make sure to cut off the top stems of the strawberries before tossing them in the blender!
  • Milk: The vanilla ice cream makes this milkshake extra thick and creamy, so you may want to add more milk to thin the shake a bit. Just add it in small increments so you don't end up with a milkshake that's too runny.
  • Sweetener: If you're using a sweetened milk or super sweet fruits, you may not need the added sweetener in the shake. Feel free to leave it out until you can taste the mixture, then add it in if you decide it needs a little extra.
