Air Fryer Frozen Sweet Potato Fries

  • tongs
  • neutral-flavored cooking spray (optional but recommended; see Notes)

Ingredients

  • 1 15-ounce bag frozen sweet potato fries
  • salt (to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions
 

If Using Spray Oil

  • Preheat air fryer to 375° Fahrenheit.
  • Add 1 15-ounce bag frozen sweet potato fries to large mixing bowl. Lightly spritz fries with neutral-flavored spray oil, then add salt and ½ teaspoon garlic powder. Stir or toss fries to coat in oil and seasonings.
  • Remove basket from preheated air fryer. Transfer seasoned fries to basket, working in small batches as needed to avoid overcrowding basket. Spread fries out into even layer, then return basket to air fryer.
  • Air fry sweet potato fries 7 minutes. After 7 minutes, remove basket from air fryer and flip fries, or shake basket to toss fries.
  • Return basket to air fryer and air fry sweet potato fries 5 minutes more. After 5 minutes, check fries, then continue air frying 2 to 5 minutes more as needed to achieve desired crispiness. Check fries every 60 seconds to prevent burning!
  • When sweet potato fries are as crispy and golden brown as desired, transfer fries to serving bowl. Repeat process with remaining frozen sweet potato fries, then serve warm with desired dipping sauces.

If Not Using Spray Oil

  • Add 1 15-ounce bag frozen sweet potato fries to air fryer basket in even layer, working in small batches as needed to avoid overcrowding basket. Return basket to air fryer.
  • Air fry sweet potato fries 7 minutes. After 7 minutes, remove basket from air fryer and flip fries, or shake basket to toss fries.
  • Return basket to air fryer and air fry sweet potato fries 5 minutes more. After 5 minutes, check fries, then continue air frying 2 to 5 minutes more as needed to achieve desired crispiness. Check fries every 60 seconds to prevent burning!
  • When sweet potato fries are as crispy and golden brown as desired, transfer fries to serving bowl. Repeat process with remaining frozen sweet potato fries.
  • Once all sweet potato fries have been air fried, sprinkle salt and ½ teaspoon garlic powder over fries in large bowl. Toss or stir fries to cover in spices, then serve fries warm with desired dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Spray Oil: Make sure to use a spray oil that’s safe for air fryers. Aerosolized cooking sprays can damage the non-stick coating on your air fryer basket.
  • Cook Time: All air fryers behave differently, even 2 of the same make and model in the same kitchen. Keep a close eye on your sweet potato fries and adjust your cook time as needed to avoid overcooking or burning your fries.
