Equipment

- tongs (or spatula)

Ingredients
- 1 cup teriyaki sauce
- 1 ½ teaspoons freshly cracked black pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 4 pork chops (preferably bone-in, but thin will work too)
- 1 tablespoon avocado oil (or vegetable oil)
- sliced pineapple (optional; for serving)
- cooked rice (optional; for serving)
- sesame seeds (optional; for serving)
- sliced green onions (optional; for serving)
- steamed broccoli or green beans (optional; for serving)
Instructions
For the Marinade
- Add 1 cup teriyaki sauce, 1 ½ teaspoons freshly cracked black pepper, and ½ tsp garlic powder to small bowl. Whisk until combined. Reserve ½ cup for cooking.
- Add 4 pork chops, teriyaki sauce marinade (except for reserved ½ cup). Flip pork chops a couple times to thoroughly coat. Marinate 10 minutes-1 hour.
- When ready to cook, remove pork chops from marinade and shake off excess. Discard remaining marinade.
For Thin Cut Pork Chops
- Heat 1 tablespoon avocado oil in large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add pork chops to skillet, pressing each down as it touches skillet.
- Let pork chops cook on one side for 3 minutes, then flip them over to other side, cooking for 1 minute. Reduce heat to medium. Add reserved ½ cup teriyaki mixture. Cover and simmer 2 minutes.
- Remove pork chops from heat and allow to rest for 5 minutes, covered with aluminum foil so juices can redistribute.
- Serve with sliced pineapple, cooked rice, sesame seeds, sliced green onions, and steamed broccoli or green beans if desired.
For Thick Cut Pork Chops
- Heat 1 tablespoon avocado oil in large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add pork chops to skillet, pressing each down as it touches skillet.
- Let pork chops cook on one side for 4 minutes, then flip them to other side to cook for another 4 minutes. Reduce heat to medium. Add reserved ½ cup teriyaki mixture. Cover and simmer 2 to 4 minutes, until sauce is thickened and pork chops are cooked.
- Remove pork chops from heat and allow to rest for 5 minutes, covered with aluminum foil so juices can redistribute.
- Serve with sliced pineapple, rice, sesame seeds, sliced green onions, and steamed broccoli or green beans if desired.
